Bitpanda appoints Irina Nicoleta Scarlat of Revolut as first growth director
LONDON, July 6, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Bitpanda, the European digital investment platform and austria first unicorn, named Irina Nicoleta Scarlat as the first Chief Growth Officer (CGO), with immediate effect.
In this newly created C-level role, Irina will take charge of Bitpanda’s business development and marketing teams, overseeing and driving the company’s expansion plans. She will lead the company’s comprehensive growth strategy, uniting the expertise of multiple teams and national locations to uncover new opportunities and continue to rapidly expand the company’s global footprint.
Irina brings more than a decade of technology industry experience to Bitpanda. Her last role was as Global Head of Growth at Revolut, after joining the company in 2018, where she led the local market growth from 20,000 to around 1.5M users. She built Revolut’s growth machine, led the growth teams in Central and Eastern Europe and later their Global Growth department, shaping Revolut’s growth journey from 1M at 15M users around the world.
Prior to Revolut, Irina built and led Uber’s marketing function by Romania, shaping their local strategy and launching key regional projects and initiatives that have grown the market to 1M users and extended local operations to three cities.

Throughout 2020, Bitpanda has opened offices in France, Spain, turkey and Italy, by opening an innovation hub in Krakow in December which saw the number of Bitpanda team members double. The digital investment platform now intends to expand into new European markets, with the intention of opening a technology hub and office in Barcelona, alongside the future talent centers of London, Paris, Berlin and Istanbul.
