Here’s how to nominate your business for Jacksonville Top Workplaces
Workplaces in Jacksonville have changed a lot since the pandemic began, along with the rest of the world.
It’s been more than two years since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, and thousands of people are still telecommuting to work from a desk at home or a laptop at the kitchen table. That’s when Florida’s unemployment rate held steady at 3% in May. Jacksonville’s unemployment rate remained at 2.3% in May, down 1.7 percentage points from the region’s 2021 unemployment figures.
Changing work and home life routines hasn’t been easy.
Currently, just under two-thirds of adults report living in a household where someone has been to an actual workplace in the previous week, according to census surveys. During this time, Florida employers have learned to overcome all kinds of challenges in order to stay afloat. Some have managed to excel and rise above the rest, especially by adapting to make their employees feel connected, heard and valued.
The Florida Times-Union is inviting nominations for its first year of participation in the Jacksonville Top Workplaces awards program.
