International cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin paid out $100,000 in bonuses to employees and salaries in Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies

Johnny Lyu is co-founder and CEO of KuCoin, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges. Founded in 2017, KuCoin quickly grew in popularity to become one of the largest international crypto exchanges. Lyu, based in Asia, claims that this company has more than 10 million users in 207 countries and regions around the world.

The exchange offers access to hundreds of tokens and offers relatively low fees. Currently, KuCoin is not licensed to operate in the United States. The company is based in the Seychelles and is not subject to US regulations.

Last year, KuCoin Exchange’s cumulative trading volume was self-reported at around $1 trillion, with average daily trading volume hitting the $3 billion mark. This puts the company in the top 10 cryptocurrency exchanges in the world.

KuCoin has seen tremendous growth throughout 2021. For example, its token, KuCoin—KCS—noted a 30x increase in value throughout 2021. The company welcomed more users, had volumes of trading higher and noted strong support for its Trading Bot solution. This program allows people to calculate the average of their investments in cryptocurrencies. The system provides for the purchase of a certain amount of a security or digital asset each week or each month. When this happens, you are buying at different price levels rather than taking the risk of buying when bitcoin or Ethereum is selling at an all-time high.

KuCoin celebrates its success by offering lush bonuses to its employees. KuCoin currently employs over 600 people globally and is looking to hire around 200 more people. Continued revenue growth means higher bonuses for employees. That’s one of the perks of working for a fast-growing exchange, Lyu said.

More than 90% of employees received at least six months’ salary as an end-of-year bonus. In addition, 5% of employees (those who performed well on key indicators) received up to 12 months of bonus salary. The top bonus level is over $100,000.

Lyu said of his company, “We pride ourselves on having the most versatile employees who all prioritize team spirit over individual gain. Our growth throughout 2021 would not be possible without their hard work and dedication. The year-end bonuses we have offered to all our employees are the result of their strong commitment to making KuCoin one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges.”

Employees have the option of being paid in fiat currency, bitcoin, Ethereum or other cryptocurrencies. About half of the workforce prefers to be paid in cryptocurrency.

The company recently launched a new initiative. Lyu recognizes the metaverse’s long-term growth potential, pointing out that it will change the way people work, connect, shop, entertain, earn money and socialize. The organization launched the KuCoin Metaverse Fund. It aims to accelerate the maturation of the emerging blockchain category by further strengthening the application of blockchain technology to a Web3 version of the metaverse with a $100 million fund.

KuCoin Labs will provide funding for projects registered with the KuCoin Metaverse Fund. If accepted into the program, they will provide project incubation, primary market investment, business partnership support, branding and marketing support, and go-to-market strategy.
