Warriors’ Steph Curry to cover Ryder Cup as part of company’s new deal with NBC

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will cover golf at the Ryder Cup later this month as part of a “global talent partnership” announced Tuesday between NBC Universal and Curry’s firm, Unanimous Media.

Curry will be part of NBC Sports’ Golf Channel coverage of the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits, which is scheduled for September 24-26. Portions of this coverage will also be shown on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland.

The massive deal with NBC Universal will also see Curry working on scripted and unscripted TV projects, NBC and CNBC, and Dreamworks Animation, among many areas. In addition, it will help to restart the series of public service announcements of the network “The More You Know”.

“Although Stephen is a world-class athlete, his brand and mission transcends the basketball court,” said Jimmy Horowitz, vice president of business and operations for NBC Universal. “The reach of Comcast NBCUniversal’s diverse portfolio will allow us to collaborate and support the goals and ambitions of Stephen and Unanimous while creating compelling and impactful content for a global audience.

“We aspire to work with creators who want their impact to span our entire content ecosystem, which makes our partnership with Stephen, Erick [Peyton] and the Unanimous Media team an ideal fit.

Curry added in a statement, “Our goal at Unanimous has always been to create content that is not only entertaining, but also inspiring and inspiring.
